I am new to the forum so this is my maiden voyage. I live in the low desert and have done most of my local fishing out of a boat at lake Hemet and Perris lake. My pickup blew the engine so I am now boatless and resigned to fishing from shore. I am looking for specific locations and rigging/baits for shore fishing at lake Hemet. I am primarily fishing for trout, panfish & catfish. I also enjoy bass fishing but prefer using a boat for that. It is already heading into the 100 degree plus range so I’m more than ready to spend a couple days fishing a cool mountain lake. I did hear that outdoor life or a similar magazine did an article on lake Hemet fishing in February but I can’t find a copy. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
I saw another reply about Hemet. The campers had trashed the place. I haven't been there in 20 years, I remember when it was always full of water. When it's low you can imagine the algae bloom.
