This past Wednesday I went to two different ponds. I was using my little spinner bait in the Bass pond and got one, lost one, then the bottom fell out. I went to the other pond and caught about five or six little sun fish, then the bottom fell out there so I called it a day. If I go fishing I don’t care how large or small they are. I just enjoy fishing and catching one is a perk. I think the dang turtles ate most of my worms when the sunfish couldn’t get to them first.

That’s a great attitude. I mostly just go fishing myself. Catching is a whole other ball game. Lol

Glad you got out and caught a few, Hack! (Them "Sunnie's" sure are pretty, ¿Ain't they?) {¿Did you fry'em up?}

I mostly go alone too. I stay as long as I want to, even if they aren’t biting. Catching them is a bonus that I enjoy. Thanks Catfish.

Thanks Able. They are a beautiful little fish and fun catching. No I put them all back. If I’da caught a lot of them I would have kept them. There’s always the next time.

Thanks Fourchon. I was using a real light weight rod & reel with 6# test. They pulled that bobber down like they were big boys. It was a lot of fun.

Nice catch Hack, those bluegill are beautiful. I've never seen any that brightly colored.

I don't think that I could ever tell the difference, between a Bluegill and a Sunfish, at the dinner table!! (Not that I can recall, anyhow.)

Thanks Fred. They were so bright yellow, they were beautiful. I’ve never seen any that bright either. If I could keep all the friggin turtles off my worms I could have caught more. I’d look out at the water and they were lined up waiting for me to cast again. I think I’m going to buy me a BB pistol and run them off, I hope.💡

I can only go by what we have up here Able. Our Sunfish are the red bellied variety, and pretty much anything with vertical stripes is a Bluegill. I could definitely be wrong, and I've never seen the Texas version of either. But they sure are purdy.
