Hello, I'm fairly new to Ottertail County and live in Ottertail city near Ottertail lake, Rush Lake, Battle Lake, Buchanan Lake, and countless others. I'm looking for advice on where to catch panfish, pike, and walleye. I have a small boat but can get on the bigger lakes if the wind isn't too bad. Thanks All and tight lines!

Iā€™d start on the W and N shorelines or quiet bays as those will warm up first. The panfish will probably be staged on the outer weed edges in 6-10ā€™ and those wanting to eat them will be cruising those areas as well as hiding in those weeds waiting to ambush a meal. Crappie minnows or small fatheads below a slip bobber will get eaten. Leeches if you can find them. If you use lures, fish them slowly. Good luck!

Welcome to the Forum, Fw, for walleye, they should be coming off the spawning beds now and getting somewhat hungry. They like to rest for a while after they are done spawning in the Canary grass if the lake has any. They also like to spawn at the mouth of a stream, especially if the mouth has Canary grass in it. Try around the islands near that area in 5' - 15' of water jigging with a minnow, leech, or a crawler. If the water temp is less than 60*, use a slow jigging action, if over 60* speed the jigging process up accordingly. Good luck! šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘
