Welcome Allan. I haven't fished Cherokee yet. I live in Strawberry Plains. Fished Douglas, Ft. Loudon and Watts Bar. You may want to consider a guide if it's in your budget. They can really provide a lot of information if you are new to the lake. I have contact info for a good one if you are interested. PM me and I'll send it to you.

Stop at a local bait shop and they may be able to help with some decent intel. They want you to do well so you become a regular Customer. A guide such as Greg suggested is a good idea, too.

Went out to German Creek last Friday with a new friend, let's call him Jim. Great fisherman, equipment, know-how and all-around great guy. He landed a large mouth in tough, windy conditions. Was a great day on the water. Good luck to 'yall.
