I love catching lots of fighting fish

I've fished since I was about 12 years old. Caught trout, catfish, carp, bass, lake trout, brook trout, kibbies, and out in the deep I caught a halibut, lots of Cod, Haddack, red fish, and others, but the best time I have always enjoyed is fishing for mackerel off the docks in Rockport, Maine where I once lived. The King mackerel are the real fighters. Oh, I did catch lots of blues and some stripers too! Lots of fun.
I am from Loudon, NH, born in Cambridge, MA., and am 77 years young.

I'm 77 also. To me, nothing beats the tarpon. I have fought them from a pier; one time while fighting one, I walked back to where I could climb down from the pier. I climbed down the side of that pier and chased that fish about a mile up the coast before losing it about 20 feet from the beach when the wire leader broke. That fight lasted for way over an hour. I saw the spool one time. Must have been in the 200 pound category. I never saw a bigger one..especially on the end of my line.....was using 30 pound braided line on a 30 pound class rod. I was so pooped that I trudged back to the pier, packed up my gear and went back to the base. I was in the navy at NAS Jax. I also was in my mid 20's and could take quite a beating.
