I think the water is cold enough that it wouldn't be wormy. See some of them get wormy when the weather and water is hot.

I've caught a lot of Black Drum and the smaller ones are great to eat the really big ones not so much. Same with Redfish. That is a fish he will never forget and he will replay the events of that catch over hundreds of times. That is what is so great about fishing. You never know what will come by.

In Florida were this fish was caught there has been a slot limit for a couple of years. The limit is 14-24" keep 5 so all these comments about eating large drum are mute at least in Florida. For a while you could keep 1 over 24 but that only lasted a year or two. But still a very nice fish especially in the surf.

Our Redfish slot is 15" to 23" no slot on Black drum min length 14" flounder will be 16" this year
