I beat you out Jersey by a few years. Still fish there on Long Beach Island. Welcome to the club.

Welcome to FS. That's what I miss, fished offshore for over 40 years and loved every minute of it. Now just fish in a private lake. Have caught a big variety of salt water fish in my time.
Hoping 1 day I can get back out there.

Welcome Jersey Girl: some of my favorite fishing continues to be bottom fishing for so many different and tasty varieties and of course the Pacific Halibut fishery that has really improve the past few years in Northern California. Bottom fishing some days we end up as many varieties as 12 and all good eating. Trolling for salmon for me is kind of boring even when the catching is good your still only usually catch maybe 6. Good luck and have fun.

1) Fish is cheaper in the meat/fish store. HaHa
2) Catching your own fish is WAY more fun, even if you lose one now and then.
3) Don't let the guys push you to the side. Jump right up there and give it your best shot. You learn from your mistakes.
4) Buy an electric filleting knife and practice on some cheap fish at the market or that you catch.
5) When going out in rough water, don't forget your Dramamine pills, HaHa
Last but not least----HAVE FUN !!

I know I'll sound like a ol fart daddy, but I don't care how ugly they are or how big they make your butt look, get you some damn boat shoes girl. You gonna go in, or worse yet you gonna step on something sharp like a knife or a hook, and then you gonna be sorry. Great photo! Thanks. Welcome to the stage.

Good advice! Safety first doesn’t make you an old fart, just smart.
