My son and grandson fished the Jekyl Island Pier today with no luck. They said no one was catching anything. They did manage to only get a half dozen crab.

I lived on St Simons when I was a kid and the fishing was great. But the shrimping industry has destroyed much of the fishing. Their large trolling nets kill hundreds of thousands of juvenile fish of every species every day. I know, I worked on a shrimp boat for a few weeks when I was about 25. I guess that would be 1975.
With all the dead fish they throw back, there are always plenty of crabs, sharks too.
Is hyde park nearby there?

New Hyde Park is on Long Island. Doe's that mean that New York and Georgia are like Jekyll and Hyde?
