Welcome to the Forum, kid, the list goes on and on. You never know you are going to catch in the salt.
Bportkid: Well, if you are fishing off the beach or pier, you are very likely to catch a hardhead catfish, and be veryu careful how you handle them and in removing the hook, Their fins are sharp and will cause a painful wound.
There are also sheephead, flounder, Redfish, Black drum, speckled trout, sand trout, shark, sting rays, and this is not a complete list. Just Sayin...RJS
I would say "It depends where you are" . I Boston it was Flounder and Bluefish and Stripers.

Welcome to surfside Bport, there is a nice lake on ceader Dr. north it has lots of bass, bream, carp, some catfish ,and u can put a small boat or yak in from the road. not much happening in surf or piers, a little to cold. But if u can get to murrells inlet, and have access to a boat there are reds, speckled trout, black drum, still biting on live or dead shrimp. GOOD LUCK KID
There are no Hardhead Catfish in South Carolina.
Lot's of whiting around here in the surf also red fish black drum blue fish small sharks croakers and the list goes on and on. Since you are so close you should go to huntington beach park and walk down to the jetty. Deeper water
and chance to catch big black drum red fish and it makes a nice day. Don't take too much stuff it is a bit of a walk.
Try to get some live shrimp and popping cork set it up 6 feet from your hook and you may be surprised what you may catch. Good luck. You can get live shrimp at Baish brothers bait and tackle in Murrells inlet.
Thanks fellows I appreciate the comments. Happy fishing
