It'll depend on the weather - sunny/cloudy, partly cloudy and the mood of the fish.
Meaning, experiment with different colors. Like anywhere else, one color may work one week, the next week, a different color will work better.
I generally use rainbow with garlic scent - That is my go to whenever I take the kids fishing. I hardly use bait unless I take kids fishing :-)

I used to live at lake Camanche and would use either rainbow or chartreuse. A lot of time I would thread a night crawler on to the hook and then put a little power bait on the tip and dip the whole thing in garlic scented gel. It was always fun to be down at the ponds when the truck would come down and stock the trout.
