Has anyone fished this lake. It’s a membership lake and I’m interested in knowing how good it is before I pay the fee

Welcome to the stage Robert. I've never even heard of it, much less fished it. I don't know what the fee is nor have I ever heard of a "membership" lake. Sounds interesting. If you do join, please let us know how it goes. And post some photos.

You live within striking distance of some pretty good bass and trout water. Where do you normally fish and what do you fish for?

Actually I just got back to this state from South Carolina. I went to the delta to checkout my old spots but they have now been fenced off. Went to Knights Landing for catfish but the winds were terrible so that was a bust. I’m actually looking for somewhere. I fish for strippers and catfish mainly here in the valley. I go trout fishing in the mountains or I use to. Any thoughts on good place around Sacramento

Yes. I have a whole lot of thoughts. If you want to go for catfish, I can tell you how to get to the Sutter Bypass. Easy access and plenty of good spots. Trout? How far you want to go? Steelhead season just opened, folks been talking about fishing for em right below Nimbus Dam by the hatchery. You should probably leave them strippers alone, they just want your money. Stripers on the other hand, we need rain and water in the rivers and late February or early March to get here - still a little early. Let me know what your preference is and I'll try to put you on some fish. I've lived in this area for the past 23 years and I've done a little fishin. Happy to share whatever little bit of knowledge I've acquired.

OK. I don't know where you live, so at least give me a starting point. Or. From where ever you are get on 99 going toward Yuba City. You will cross over the Feather River bridge just after the East Nicholas exit. In about a mile, maybe a little less, you will see Sacramento Blvd. You want to take a left. That road will take you directly back to a whole bunch of fishable water - lots of catfish and bass. When you get to the bridge, there's a road to the right that runs all along the water with plenty of spots to sit and fish for cats. If you cross the bridge that will take you over to the other channel that runs along there. Before you cross that bridge and also on the other side of it, there are two great spots (on your left). Once you're out there you can drive around and do a little exploring. Pretty wild and wooly out there, but it is patrolled pretty well by the wardens and the sherrif, at least it used to be. I don't go out there like I used to. Google maps "Sutter By-pass" and there's a real good layout of it. My advice, if you carry, that's a real good place to do it - no need for a permit as long as it's open and if the warden or sheriff comes to talk, let him or her know that you're armed. The best surprise is none at all. You're out there amongst the rice fields and there are hogs - keep your eyes and ears open.
One more thing - I used to go out there at night and fish. Kinda lonely out there, and when Mrs Beaver comes swimming by and slaps her tail on the water, best have some tp with you. Yep. Beavers.
