Welcome to the stage Keith, no idea where that is.
Hey Keith, some lures that I've had success with at Lake McClure are needle fish spoons, cripple lures, hum dingers, and speedy shiner spoons. My favorite is the needle fish in chrome with a red head. I'll also tip my spoons with a piece of a nightcrawler. Enjoy!
Keith I was at Mcswain today and came home with 8 trout my buddy caught his first lightning trout today
I fish McClure for bass and have about 160 hours on that lake over the past three years but haven't been there in over a month. I think I got one on a drop shot that last time. I seem to do better with ribbon tails but had one day where a coppertrusse z man ned worked when nothing else did. Also I have experienced color seems to matter there. Sometimes like turning on a switch. Just my experience, some swear that color doesn't matter. That has not been my experience. Water is depressingly low as are most of the lakes up here. McSwain I'm told is a trout lake. I haven't been much of a trout fisherman so I can't speak to that. I don't see many boats on it though as I'm driving in. Obviously we need water and if God sees fit to provide us some, fishing will pick up in spring and 50 fish days can and have been accomplished. Good luck!!
What’s everybody using for the Lightning Trout? I saw 2 today but they didn’t seem to like my bait. :(

We saw a guy getting them on some sort of casting spoon that was in Firetiger colors on Amador, about a 2 to 3 inch lure like a Thomas
