My name is Larry Klebold. New to fishing the gulf or bay. My father and friends fished Rockport 40 plus years ago.I Live in western Colorado. I have fly fished most of my fishing life using dry flies and nymphs.
I was born in west tx. but have lived in Colorado the last 45 or so years. Retired, my wife (msamerica) and I travel in a sprinter rv pulling a toad.
So enough of that, I would like to know what kind of gear to start looking for, I seem to be better with a spin type reel as opposed to an open faced reel. Rods lengths etc. I am a total neophyte.
Thanks
Klebold: Welcome. But you have left us confused. You mentioned Western Colorado and Rockport, which are you asking about fishing? See, we cannot read your mind....Are you thinking of traveling back to Texas and fishing on the coast, or remaining in Colorado? Need clearification. Just Sayin...RJS

Welcome to the Forum, Larry, You could take your fly rod down to the pike between Aransas Pass and Port A and catch some reds with it.
