New to Fishing stage, Moved to Melbourne about a year ago from up north and fish several times a week. Started with the fresh water Bass and now fish everything (fresh, brackish, salt). Been doing a lot of surf casting the past few weeks and caught about 7 species ,love the variety . Thanks to the Admins for running such a great site where people like me can share what's going on in our area and also grab some general fishing knowledge !

Welcome to the Fishing Stage, BobbyE! Have you tried catching any, up near (or AT) Port Canaveral?

There should be fewer shrimp boats there, around New Moon. (Prolly might even be some missing around Full Moon; depending upon their "target-species").

I've had success at the Banana River causeway near Patrick AFB.

That’s funny major, small world I fished there last night for an hour . I love watching all the planes and copters taking off when i fish there. I Always catch tons of trout on that causeway but not much else. What are you catching there?

Because of Covid we did not travel to our winters digs in the Keys this year. Fish there while visiting friends who retired in PAFB area on the way down and back up on our snowbird travels. Trout is the target there for me as well using Keith soft plastics with Pro-Cure in shore gel.
Watch the sun reflections there BobbyE!

If there's any longline, swordfish boats tying up there, these days; THEY are probably offshore for the full moon. (Is what I SEEM TO remember... The bite was thought to be better, the week of the full moon.)
