Great day

My wife had a bank holiday yesterday and I actually got her to go out and do something enjoyable. I'm really missing nice weather but there's always one place I can go for outdoor scenery when it's cold and windy. Longwood Gardens is one of the original Dupont homes. When the Dupont came to the US from France, they started a gunpowder mill. They made a lot if money and eventually branched out into many other chemical areas. One of them loved flowers and his home reflects his interest. It's now a trust, probably because after income tax came in they couldn't afford to keep it up. It's a major attraction in the area, people literally come from all over the world to see it. It's about 20 minutes from my home. Here's some of the highlights of my day.

Fly, I’ve been there myself and was in awe of the orchids. Glad you had a great time with the wife.

Very beautiful, Fly. Thanks for sharing. The Dupont story is quite a story, did you see the movie?

The orchid show will be coming up. The Christmas display just ended, then comes the winter display and orchids. Then the outdoor spring.

The fountain shows and fireworks displays they run in summer are absolutely amazing.
