Hi, I'm Martin. I'm currently living in NE OH (Wayne County). I've fished most of my life, but in the South (Fl and Ga mainly). I've never fished winters or for Northern fish. Looking forward to any tips of shore fishing area river, dams, spillways, lakes, and streams. Currently interested in landing my first saugeye. Heres to many fish on and successful trips!
Welcome to the stage Martin YouTube is your friend but I will say winter time fishing is a whole lot slower.
Thanks, whitey, thats what I've heard.
Welcome to the stage Martin. Can't help much, not familiar with Ohio fishing. But we have some members that live around you, they'll probably chip in.
Depends on if sauger . caught in lake erie, can be kept or not. Best to get hold of the dec there and ask a ton of questions first. Good luck.
Live west of Toledo myself, the lakes all have thin ice on them around me. I would check out any reservoirs in your area. The one in Defiance was ice free the other day, when I drove up to the boat ramp. I have read the DNR has stocked walleye and saugeye in reservoirs in the northern part of the state. Google your local spots on premier angler it gives an idea of what fish are in that body of water. good luck. Im trying to figure out this winter fishing myself. My daughter got me started late last summer we are now picking out better gear. 15 dollar zebco too agravating.
Thanks, Ken, good luck out there!
