It should work great. Anise is the original "fish attractant" as far back as I can remember. It'd be nice to hear about your success. Good luck

I used to use anise and apples for an attractant when I was trapping muskrats.

Black licorice can be cut and is hollow or get the australian style licorice that is softer but solid. Can add to hook before adding your cut bait ( fresh fish parts or fillet ) When catfishing try to leave some skin on and run hook through the skin so fish can not take meat without getting hook in mouth. Night crawlers and Chicken livers tied on hook with elastic thread or netting ( panty hose with NO PERFUME ) will ensure hook in mouth of cats before they spit it. Cat fishing if water is still you can open bail and wait to see line start moving. give fish some time before setting hook so they have all the way in mouth before Jerk on one end of line feels a jerk on the other :) :)

Goood Luck. Take several baits. If fishing moving water start at highest point and move downstream after 1/2 hour. They will be moving up from mile or two downstream to your bait. Night fishing will usually be better if not deep dark water in day time hours. Good luck. Try new locations and please show us the pictures of the fun.

Gummy Bears and goo goo or whatever they are called are all good to add to line near hook. Sweet will always get fishes attention as it melts into the water. Gummy worms ( candy ) is nice to get threaded on hook above bait so it has contact with water. Remember when other fish ( small ) check out your bait they wake up other lethargic fish.

I bet it works. Early last summer I read on here about jello chicken. And it gave me the idea to try my favorite catfish scent, with chicken. So I cut up some fresh chicken breast into 1 1/2" chunks and put them in a baggie and sprayed a bunch of WD/40 in and put it in the fridge for a week. I took it with me to Utah Lake that next week where I normally use fresh shrimp or fresh carp. It was a little slow in the North end shallow weeds where I was fishing. My notes show just 4 fish that morning, and one was on a red aided shiner minow. So I went out to Bird Island and fished on the South side of the Island. It was slow there, I
got a 22" male i

So I moved to the North Side of the Island and that's when I decided to try my chicken. It was 12:30 in the afternoon. I put a chunk of chicken on. I was in 4 feet of water using a bobber and before I could bait up the second pole my bobber started moving and I pulled a 22 incher in. At 12:35 I got one 20 1/2" and 12:40 a 21 inch cat. 12:55 a 24" 5 1/2 pounder. At 1:15 I got one 23 1/2" and 1 :30 I got one 25 3/4" that was 6 1/2 pounds.
So 6 nice cats in one hour using chicken and WD. It deserves more testing.

Have you ever tried plain fresh dead shrimp? I peel them sometime and use a small hook and 3/4" piece of bait. Works great down in Gods country, South LA.
