Hi, My name is Bruce and I'm new to this forum. I'm wondering what you all think of salted baits such as shrimp and squid. I have a couple of pounds of each that I salted but have not tried them as yet.

Have not tried those yet. I have used frozen and fresh squid both work well. Salted clam works very well and stays on the hook better. I’ve seen salted blood worms and it’s been said they work very well also. I’m a fresh bait guy. It’s about scent and slime. Bring a lot and Change it often.

Spiny dogfish. Note the sharp bone like spines by the dorsal fins. Kind of a nuisance fish here in NJ . But they’ll bend your rod.
