Thanks. That’s what I’ve learned through research and information from doctors I know. The vaccines won’t do a thing unless you already have the virus in you. They won’t protect you from getting the virus but if you contract it while the vaccine is still active it will kill it.

Recent studies have shown the vaccine could last as long as three months but those studies are inconclusive as of yet. There’s no viable information out as to how long they last yet. It’s a two part vaccine so far and the second part is hard to get in most places.

My ankle dr. told me she donated blood and they screened for antibodies. Thinking of doing that as blood is in such shortage now and also find out if I've had it and am asymptomatic.

Not sure I follow you there CH. Seems to me the vaccine triggers the immune system to make anti bodies for the Covid19, once the antibodies are created, then the body has protection against viral infection Covid19, should they be needed.

Biology and medicine are not my strong suit, and the point of the link from me was to say, "it is safe to get the vaccine". Now you have given me (and possibly others) something else to think about, namely how long will I be immune to Covid19?

Unlike the Influenza which mutates quickly, therefore requiring yearly immunization, the Covid is a coronavirus. Not sure if that makes sense. Oh well, I just think its safe to get the vaccine.

Thanks for the reponse....

I just relayed what I was told by a medical doctor friend of mine. I have no clue about any of it. He explained what he know from recent scientific studies but other recent scientific studies might show something different. It would be good to know how long the vaccine lasts though. That would define how often it was needed maybe. Just a little scary with a new virus that nobody knows much about yet. 🤷‍♂️

Roger That.

The body makes proteins (from RNA and DNA instructions) Proteins metabolize (make enzymes that break down molecules [toxins]). Antibodies are highly specific proteins that destroy toxins.

That is my understanding.

Never thought I would live to see a pandemic.

Also, I much appreciate your posts.

I think of it like I do Birthdays. When you look at your options, I'll take the Birthdays and the Vaccines.
