Took a look at this stream about 3 months ago but I didn't have a PA license at the time. Took a ride back today and gave it a try. The lower picture is the outflow from the reservoir then it runs out into Tulpehocken Creek. The upper shot is where the stream flows onto a special regs area that is pretty heavily stocked with trout. Only artificial lures are allowed. Didnt get any takers, trying with a texas rigged worm, rattle trap and a liive crayfish under a bobber to keep it off the rocks on the bottom. Target was walleye and smallmouth . After no action, switched to the fly rod in the lower section toward the spec reg area, since I saw a few dimples on the water. No luck there either, but I wasn't completely prepared to fish fly. Beautiful day to be on the water though.

Looks like a beautiful spot FT,, maybe next time. You got some casting practice anyway. That's more than I got. Thanks for the pictures!
I’m SO jealous! That’s an absolutely sweet looking spot. Hopefully you’ll get them next time. Good luck

Looks beautiful Fly, at least you got out on the water today, keep at it I'm sure you'll hook something there
I've fished the downstream trout area. It's a beautiful piece if water. Talked to one of the locals and found out the area just below the dam has smallies, walleyes and tiger musky as well as some carp and the stocked trout. Also has a lot of rocks on the bottom. Makes it interesting.
I believe I'd take my big ol cardboard box and move in. Looks like it's even got a crapper. What more could you ask for?

Thats the downside. Takes me an hour twenty to get there plus 1.60 in tolls each way, and about 20 bucks in fuel. There's another reservoir about 15 miles closer that's not too far from where my daughter is moving to. Thats where I'll be trying next.. Her daughter is one of my best fishing buddies, and the other one (GS) lives right down the street. By the way Spirit, that is a porta, and it's clean.

That's a little far to be traveling to but it looks like it may be worth going there once in a while
Just like the rich folks!
Blue Marsh lake created for flood control purposes. The Tulpehocken Creek is a very good body of water fish. During trout season it can get crowded.Below the dam ,I’m not sure how many miles it is it flows into the Schuykill River in Reading,Pa. At the upper end of the the lake the Tulpehocken Creek and the Nortkill Creek create the lake.
The three rivers and the lake have multiple species of fish. Check them out on the Internet.
I live 2 blocks from the Schuykill River and about 5 miles from th upper end of the dam.
