Fly fishing: Deer fly pattern?

Wondering if there are any deer fly patterns, or if that is even a useful pattern. Most of the streams and ponds I like to fish are tucked back into the woods, and the deer flies seem to outnumber everything else in the summer.

I'm not aware of any specific deer fly patterns but an elk-wing caddis size 12 to 8 might work. Good luck!

Try deer hair caddis in stead of elk hair.
I met a older guy while fishing the Owens below the pleasant valley damn. He turned me on to deer hair. It presents a little different than elk and works a lot better in that fishery.
