Best of luck down there in the land of the Texans Mitch. Don't forget about us poor souls who are staying in the land of fruits and nuts. We'll want to see photos of those bodacious bass!

I have looked at Texas many times. The hill country really looks nice. Every time I wanted to go look the weather went nuts. Message from above?
We have been married for 55 years and it has been a good run but getting close to the end. We don't live forever. Trying to enjoy what we have left.

good idea. 1988 my mil passed and we drove her car from Dallas to San Diego. Got more fingers than a Indian goddess for driving that around the neighborhood. "go back to Texas MF!" such nice friendly people.

Well, you wont find the Hill country much different than AZ. However, there are four or five other zones of Texas that are different than the Hill Country.

I have no idea what you would prefer, but there's the Piney woods of East Texas, and the Rio Grande Valley for those who wish to escape the frigid north, and it is more like the north side of the Mexican Sonora Desert, but irrigated by the Rio Grande River.

Then there is North Texas with a lot of lakes. Just take your pick. Just Sayin...RJS

Spirit: I find it amusing that you'd get that kind of reception in your state. I don't think that California would get as much negative response here in Texas, at least I hope not. Just Sayin....RJS

The hill country is nice if you can deal with the humidity. We lived in Boerne for 5 years. You could go into San Antonio and eat at a different great restaurant every night of the year and never hit the same place twice. Both the Mexican food and the BBQ is the best I’ve ever had.

Expect a little culture shock. Not sure what the 160 and 120 are in reference to.
When asking directions expert to hear
“ turn left at the BBQ joint “. Lol. Only problem is there is a BBQ joint on every corner.

Texans aren’t as hard on Californians as some of the other southern states. Austin is the new Silicon Valley. Just saying.
