Thank you for the prayers. I can't believe he ate a beer can. An old one, at that, so he wasn't after the taste of the beer. I feel so bad that I left it out there. It was behind some old tomato plants. I saw it when pulling up old plants and thought to myself that I needed to pick up the trash. Never dreamed he would eat it.

He was just trying to get rid of it for you, good doggy!

Maybe he will just also like a beer when he gets through this episode.

Thank you! Yes, he is family. Hopefully he will come through this ok. Not sure what I will do if he doesn't.

I'm praying for him. He'll be just fine. Just don't stand behind him for a few days. I'd hate to hear you were injured by shrapnel. Positive thoughts and good luck. 😉

I noticed my dog chewing on something in the backyard yesterday afternoon. I went out there to discover he was eating a beer can. He had found an old one in part of the vegetable garden. A trip to the vet and X-rays show small pieces of aluminum in his stomach. Too small to be able to remove surgically. At the vet's recommendation we are feeding him canned pumpkin and bread and praying he will pass this without causing internal damage. Prayers appreciated for Cash. The next 3 days or so will be stressful. This guy is my buddy. Prayers appreciated.

Prayers with you I used Gatorade for mine to pass the aluminium believe it or bot happens more times then you think just give ton of fluids and feed normally if you dont it will shock his body and the aluminium will not digest

Thanks. We are feeding normal kibble and supplementing with canned Pumpkin, which he LOVES. The vet says that should help the stuff pass.

Praying it works...

Good idea RJS... I had an Akita, and he and I used to watch the Tonight Show together, and he’d always bring his bowl over whenever he heard me pop open a cold one, and slap me on the leg with his paw until I shared some with him...after a few together, i’d usually end up carrying my 170 lb baby boy upstairs with me so he could sleep at bedside....

Man, you must be a bull to carry a 170 dog up the stairs. With a bladder full of beer, how many times would he wake you to go out to go to take a pee? I think something would change someplace along the line.
