Welcome to the Forum, Jrjh. Keep a tight line!
neat trick with dolphin fish, when you catch the first one don't reel it all the way in. Have another rod ready cause all his buddies are coming to find out what's happening! also you don't really need anything fancy we catch them on a piece of squid or shrimp. look for anything floating on the water they like to hang out underneath (log, bucket, deflated balloons) tite lines!

We used to catch'em on Squid and whole, small (no more than a foot long) Mackerel... Out in the Gulf-Stream, at anywhere from 60-120 feet deep... Just drifting with the tide, at night, with a "light-stick" about a fathom above the hook.

You might consider trying to catch some dinner, right there near the beach, at the "cooling water discharge" (hot water), coming out of the power-plant. There's often "a real mixed bag" of seafood swimming around right there.
Can you suggest best bait for North fork of the St lucie river
Thanks
