Got waders and I'm looking for a shoe for them

For christmas I got some Orvis clearwater waders. I wanted to use them to help me fly fish but also kayak fish while the water is colder. They are the kind with a neoprene sock. I've been looking around at boots but im wondering if there is a better option for kayak fishing as well. Any thoughts?

Big fan of my Hodgdon Aesis boots. Swap out the sole material for the use quite easily. You might not want studs in your kayak, but might be necessary for wading, easily accommodated with Aesis.
Advice without knowing your budget is kind of a shot in the dark. The Hodgdon Aesis boots are roughly the same $$ as your waders plus $30-$40 for alternative sole-types.
IMO, Korkers, also able to swap soles and far more popular, are a giant pain in the *** to swap, Aesis are much easier. Have had both, sticking with the Aesis, for sure. BOA lacing may seem like an unnecessary extravagance, but being able to adjust with one hand, in the water if necessary, is just like heated seats in the vehicle.... didn't think I needed them until I had them... now, won't go back.
Just be sure to get the best fit by trying on boots WITH WADERS ON, or at least sock-thickness equivalent, whatever you buy... comfy is a good thing.

You said you kayak fish. Are you going to wear waders while in kayak? If so I wouldn't wear then while in a kayak. No matter how careful you are, you still could tip over and that is not a good thing if wearing waders. What if they fill with water? You would have one hell of a time trying to stay above water as they fill up! My thoughts, kinda dangerous don't you think? I would never wear mine while fishing in my kayak.

If you are not wearing a belt on your waders (most come either with one or with loops or channel to accommodate one)...then you simply aren't being safe or are choosing to not wear them correctly. The dreaded "filled waders" is so totally avoidable. Oregon water can be cold even in July, waders are a godsend, even if only giving protection launching and landing.
This applies solely to sit-on, rather than sit-in kayaks, of course.
And can't imagine getting in my drift boat, this time of year for steelheading, without 'em, even if I am the rower.

I used to use a pair of high top sneakers, be sure to tape the tops to keep gravel, sand and other undesirable objects out. Keep fishing. DEEJAY
