Open sights at 300 meters? That would be amazing beyond my wildest dreams.

Yeah, I can't do that anymore either.
My right eye is a little blurry sometimes and can't always see clearly out of it.

Heck, with my 270 Cal with a scope I am happy to keep my pattern at 200 yards in a 8in radius. It has proven to be good enough for Elk hunting.

I'm probly 3 to 4 inches at 200 yards with my Sako .270. However back in the day ,with the same weapon, I could put 3 rounds in the bull at 100 yards you could cover with a nickel. My how age changes us.

In August of '65 I had to qualify on an M-16 before I could ship to Vietnam. No practice, no nothing. I asked the NCOIC why not. He said' wait until you fire this'. 49 out of 50, 300 meters, iron sights, no kick either. Must add this was one of the rifles manufactured by Colt before they had to sub-contract them out to General Motors where the quality fell off considerably.

I know. They were/are extremely accurate . That's what I used on the rifle/pistol team '71-'75.

I’ve missed two bucks at 275 yards. There was a time I could have dropped them both shooting offhand. Damn getting old is a bitch. You should be proud, more Dads should teach their daughters to shoot.
