It depends where, and when I'm fishing Plum. Early morning I'll listen to nature. As soon as human introduced noise starts, other fishermen, jetskis, waterskiers , or the worst of all :Wake Boarders and Surfers! Why they gotta have 4or6 speakers, and 500watts, blasting Hip-Hop or Gangsta music I don't know. That's when I'll turn on one of our Classic Rock stations, not too loud but enough to drown out other peoples noise.

Good point Fred. Sorry to say my oldest is one of those your mentioning.

Your last sentence says it all Ben.

How do you guys feel about a radio while fishing? For me it interrupts the Peace and Quiet and the 2nd reason for going fishing.

I enjoy the peace and quiet. It helps me to clear my head and really appreciate the surroundings. Most times I am on the water at first light and have a few hours to myself. Once the toys come out, I am outta there. Life is too short and I have plenty of options to choose from if I still want to fish. That is usually around the time for breakfast, anyway...or at least time for another cup of coffee.

I like the quiet and being aware of my surroundings. If I'm out on the boat and lots of racket around then earbuds are nice, sometimes.

Maybe I’m OCD but I can’t stand using other peoples fishing rods and reels.
To me it’s like wearing someone else’s shoes
Just don’t feel right
Anyone else like this or am I just weird ?

I feel the same way about that. I don't like using other peoples tools either. I don't mind them using mine though.

Mike

I like music so occasionally I'll hook up my iPad to my ears and listen while I fish. Noone else has to listen to it. Most of the time I don't bother.

Not a fan of extra noise, whether on a boat, in a tractor or combine, or in a car. With my hearing loss it's hard for me to understand lyrics, so music is pretty much just noise. If I need something to keep me awake, I'll turn on talk radio.

Ben if you are considered weird you have a partner here. Always had the feeling that if something is loss or broken the exact replacement would not be what the owner really wanted. Feel the same way on tools. I will buy before borrowing.

I heard a guy say once “ I don’t loan my money, my tools, my saddle, or my wife”. Pretty good creed.

I always feel more comfortable with my own stuff. Got it dialed in the way I like it for specific reasons. But it’s cool to try other set ups, reels drags , rod lengths, powers ,actions, lines, tied on or use of clips or swivels. Different techniques and different approaches.

My fav punishment music is 300 bagpipers and 200 drummers playing Scotland the Brave on a endless loop, loud enough to kill rats. I trip after that my son stopped with his rap and bs music that was hurting my ears. never did it again.

I just love to fish, hand me a pole put me in front of some water and I'll be happy. If u can't find a pond, creek, river, lake or ocean then fill up a bathtub I'll still be happy as long if there is fish in it. Don't worry fish more.

How's that back cast work out when fishing in the tub?
