Hi everyone!!!!! Just got home off the frozen pond. NOPE I didn't fall in this time. Caught 5 small pups about 3pounds is all today.no pictures. Maybe tomorrow.

I think waiting is the safest option, would really hate to see anyone on this sight get sick and,,, well you know. It's not worth it. I would rather live to fight another day. 22 might be better.

How did that sno dog work? 😆

Well CH, that's why I said it was my opinion. Not that it matters but if it is held this year there will be quiet a few that can't/won't attend for this reason or that.
However, I do believe that the majority of guys there would feel more comfortable if the attendees have been vaccinated.
Granted, the vaccine isn't available to the masses as of yet, but I for one will get it eventually.
I would like it to be proven a little more for me to get it but I believe it to be safe as of now.
You are very right that it is I who should not attend if too many people feel as you do and do not choose to get vaccinated. In which case I shall not attend such a large gathering of people with such little regard for others health and well being.

Never mind. Wrong section. I’m so used to being in the attic I lose track once in a while. Happy fishing.

Yeah brother, that's a nice gig for sure. Wish they had something like that around here we could do.

There’s quite a few programs scattered around that pay you to fish. You should check around. I know there are some walleye and northern pike depredation programs around here and there. I’m thinking about getting involved in the walleye programs if I can find any close enough. They are a voracious predator. Especially in a trout lake. I’ve heard of $15.00 bounties on them in places. Just haven’t researched it much yet. Maybe a good off season deal for me🤷‍♂️. I’ll be guiding elk, deer and bear hunters next fall so that’ll enhance the ole pocket book a little.

I suppose you’re right if you feel that way. That would be kinda like asking someone to take you hunting right in the middle of a pandemic that you’ve never met. Get in his truck without a mask for several days and not wear one when you get around a bunch of people you’ve never met. Go out to dinner with them to places you’ve never been and not think a thing about the current pandemic. Spend time with them in their home with little regard as to there well being or if you might catch something from them. Travel all the way there and back, stopping to eat, buy food, get fuel and not worry about the whole mask thing or any vaccines. I hear ya. My guess is there will be fewer people at the meet and greet than say, a local steak house maybe, but who am I to say. I’m not sure how many will be there and I’m sure it will be planned outside. Good luck to you if you can make it there. Tell everyone hi for me.

Come on now. You have to admit that there is a lot of difference of bein around 1 or 2 people for a week,
Occasionally goin out to eat and not bein very close to other people when you did and bein around a group of guys and their wives to the tune of 60+ people from ALL over the country every day for a week.
Kinda like comparing apples and oranges. I just don't think that's too fair of a comparison. But if that is how you really feel about it, then alright.

My 2 cents worth, before this turns into a big argument let's postpone M &G until next. year. Vaccine should be widely available by then. I'm only 2 and a half hours from Lake Perry so distance doesn't matter to me. Information about virus is about as reliable as political info

Okay here is my 2 cents on the no show if you don't get vaccinated mentioning.

Obviously there is going to be a list mentioned on who is coming whenever it shall be and i suggest name tags with our user names on them. Mainly because will we really recognize each other from what we have seen or been told here on the stage.

So here is the catch. Different color name tags for those that got the shot and for those did not get the shot. That way the concerned person can keep their distance. Sounds like win / win to me.

Probably depends on the situation I would guess. I’ve seen people from all over the country here. They get out of a vehicle, walk right into a grocery store or gas station, restaurant, local business, what have you. Not wearing masks or social distancing what so ever. Granted our places of business are not big where I live but there is usually 20 to 30 people in our local grocery store at any given time. Our local steak house usually has 40 to 60 people in it most all the time. It’s impossible to social distance at a gas station here because of their size and I’ve witnessed people walking right in, shopping around and I know they’re not from here and they don’t give it a second thought. How many people does it take to catch the virus from? One is what I’ve heard. And if they have it it won’t take a week to catch if from them. The good news is you have to exchange bodily fluid to catch it. It’s a liquid droplet virus. Hence the reliability of social distancing. As long as you don’t kiss any of the guys or their wives and you keep a reasonable distance from everyone you should be ok according to leading health officials. No shaking hands or hugging anyone. I’m pretty sure that time will be a better healer than an untested, unproven vaccine. But as I said before. Good luck to you and I hope you have a great time down there. If you think people will be going to intentionally disregard the safety and well being of others I’d suggest you not go. I know I wouldn’t if people didn’t care about others and went there sick.

With the news today of Sue’s (Saw’s wife) upcoming surgery, I feel it is a good time to open discussions about the M & G scheduled for May 9-15 at Clinton and Perry State Parks. I posted a reply to Steve on the “Surgery” thread and am going to “copy and paste” that here.Family is always #1 priority.
Is this a new injury, or collateral damage from the other fall?
Obviously, this means you won’t be able to come to Kansas in May....? The way that Covid has been progressing (or not) and hearing this week that some states/groups will not even have the vaccines available by then, makes me wonder if the M & G is even a viable option for this May.
What think y’all ??

I am pretty sure that Clinton State Park would give us an equally good deal next year if we decide to postpone till next year.
That is something I can check on to make sure.
Y’all’s safety and health is most important.
Randy

I haven't been fishing for quite a while. I will be fishing in May and Lake Clinton looks like a good place, except it tests positive for zebra mussels and you will have to get your boat cleaned before taking it back into home waters.

I am thinking I will go fishing there in May, with or without Meet and Greet. I believe no one here has overstated the risks. The wisest course in my view is to postpone. I'm going to be there anyhow. I have become close friends with masks (which I hate), hand sanitizer, the shower and laundry. If the vaccine is available I will get a shot or two. I survived a rough bout with the virus and recommend being as safe as you can.

I’ll dig mine out. Probably have a couple hundred. I’ll take a picture of them rigged up and it’s basically cast and retrieve where the walleye are. On the Columbia I drift them from the bank as well as cast and retrieve from a boat. Pretty simple. They’re meant to look like baby salmon or steelhead so however you would imagine a baby salmon or steelhead swimming is how they work. Killer around dams.
We ain’t gonna worry about paying for anything.i can make 50 of em for about $2.00 and postage is nothing. They’re light. I won’t have $5.00 wrapped up in the whole thing and that’s including making myself a hundred or so. I give em to all the guys on the river. They love em. It’s just fun making stuff like that for me.

Now that’s funny Cat. Don’t know why you’d be in the attic a lot. You seem sane to me.

I'm getting my shot next week at my VA in Redding, Ca I would think it would be prudent to postpone until 2022.
