One less lure = gas for 4 more trips to the lake.

At those prices, a couple of different lure retrieval systems would be well worth the price. Most of my lures come from garage and estate sales at about $1.00 each for hard plugs and a lot less for jigs, spinners and spoons. I have several hundred lures including nearly every lure I have seen recommended on here (those expensive ones exempted) With my air brush, powder coat and 60 years of fly tying gear, I can turn old to new or like new but different. I do buy hooks soft plastics and split rings in bulk new. I usually get my bulk stuff from e-bay. Most foreign items except Japanese need modification to be of any use. Buy from U.S. or Japan suppliers and manufacturers unless the product is just not available otherwise.

$25 is nothing. Try musky lures. $20 at the low end. Some are selling for $150 and up. Prices have gotten insane in the last 15 years. I remember crying when I spent $10 on a lure. Glad I have more than I need. Fortunately with the heavy equipment used, very few are lost.

Guess I'm glad they don't have Muskies here where I live cause I'm not fishin for something I gatta spend 150 bucks for a lure to do it with. That's just me though.
I didn't like spendin 8 to 10 bucks on the lures I use for striper fishin.

Too make it even worse; almost all fish caught are released. A lot of people I know have well over $100,000 invested in boat, motor, and gear and release all fish caught. The 'fun' is in the hunt, not the catch.

Swimbaits can get pretty expensive. I don’t use the big $$$$ baits everyday. The Roman Made Mothers and negotiators I use quite a bit. $550 & $250 respectively

I was just looking at a Megabass Big M 7.5 crankbait.
$34.99. Wow.
Got me to thinking. What is the most expensive bass lures you routinely use?
Mine is Megabass Vision 110s at $25 a pop. Crazy expensive, but my hands down favorite jerkbait in all depth models.

Wow! I guess that I’ve been out of bass fishing for way too many years!! I’m in the process of jumping back in when I move over to the Douglas Lake area so I appreciate the financial ‘heads up’.... lol. Like someone said, you get what you pay for!!

My home made tubes. About 50 cents a dozen.

i guess im just a cheep old man, but i cant justify spending that kind of money on a bait. a lucky craft pointer is about as expensive as i buy, and i cringe whenever i pick one up. i tell myself its the fisherman, not the bait that catches fish?

You usually keep the lures longer.

I always say an unused lure is a useless lure, use it if you got it

OMG losing one is a bad day !!! Try everything to retrieve. Fu(# he fishing hole!!!
Megabass vision 110s are super fragile. Way too much in my opinion.
Don’t wanna beat em on rocks that’s for sure. . Pointers are more durable. If I’m fishing rocks they get the nod.
Where megabass visions get interesting is the. Plus 1 and plus 2 series. Deeper work and perfect suspension.. 6-11 range. That’s what it’s all about for me.

Absolutely devastated when a pike tears of a $10 jerk bait destined for bass. Happens way too often up on Lake Ontario
