I have seen on Facebook and possibly you have too. There is a photograph of an Indian, perhaps a chief who has a rifle held in his lap. The caption is quite succinct and poetic. The caption says, “When government says you no need gun! You need gun!

While there were many cross currents in Texas all during the 1800’s, some in the state’s government were for helping the Indians, such as Sam Houston. Others, like Houston’s arch rival, Mirabeau Lamar, the next president of the Republic, was for exterminating all the Indians, and possibly coined the phrase, “A good Indian is a dead Indian!”

My great grandfather was a casualty in the War between the States. My great grandmother bundled up all her children, my grandfather the youngest, in a wagon and left Louisiana and came to North Texas, intending to live with her sister and family.

The Comanches and Kiowa were so frequently raiding that her bother in law could not farm due to the raiders stealing his horses so he could not farm successfully. She had to go back to Louisiana until the war was over before she could return. So, I am only two generations from bloody conflict with Native Americans. Quanah Parker and I were born within less than 50 miles of each other, but eons of time apart.

So, as many as who wish can lecture me about having no guns or restricting the availability of weapons. Produce all kinds of evidence have many powerful or emotional points to support their case, but I will never be persuaded. I am with the old Indian. ”You need gun!” Just Sayin…RJS

Yes you do. And when the fathers of this nation wrote the constitution that governs us, they made sure to include your right to own one and protect your family and home into the bill of rights. Those dudes were pretty damned savvy. 'Course that's the same bunch that wrote that part about the e*******l college and how we select a new president and get him sworn in. Tomorrow Ted Cruise and some other Trump sycophants will challenge that constitutional process and try to invalidate the duly certified e*****rs from at least 6 states. Funny how they could be so correct about one thing and just dead wrong on another. Even though that process has served this country well for almost 250 years. He's still got two weeks to declare martial law and that the e******n results are invalid.

I am trying to recognize and accomplish my own most important, next right thing...
I'm a big believer in "the rule of law"; and also, owing to the fact that I live in a democracy - the best nation on Planet Earth; that if and when we find a law to be something that we really can't and/or shouldn't abide by, there are "mechanisms in place" by which we can change those laws. None of those ways, include: "at the barrel of a gun" as being part of the process. At least not since the American Civil War, of which, it's interesting to note; that my Great-grandfather as well, "died as a result of wounds inflicted during the war between the States". [We are EXTREMELY "long-winded, between generations, in my family] (These are the words his daughter {my Great-Aunt Valda} recorded, in a letter to my father and mother, back in the 1960's.) ...
That much being said; I fully intend to remain armed & dangerous (to those who would unlawfully cause me harm) as long as the law of this land allows it. There's already 1/2-way "strict" city ordinances regarding gun type and magazine capacity, here in the City of Cleveland. In fact, I'm legally allowed to walk down the sidewalk out here, with my loaded 12GA.; BUT; in practice, if I'm going somewhere to shoot; it will be MT and inside a zipped up case.
I am truly hoping that there are enough people in this country, who will NOT abide by unconstitutional actions by wh**ever authority certain individuals claim to possess. The law is the law and once we start ignoring it... It goes way beyond: "¡Danger Will Robinson!"

Why do you think that that would surprise me? And I hope you are correct. 10 ex secretaries of defense were concerned enough about what he might try to pull that they signed and published an op-ed last week advising the military to stay the hell out of this.

We haven’t had the kinds of crooked people running for office over the past 250 years though. You can h**e Trump all you want but “President elect Harris” will be the downfall of our country.

What is it you think the downfall of our country would look like? 72 years and I've never witnessed an attempted c**p until today. Someone was k**led in the US Capitol today. The Capitol was over run by an angry mob incited to action by the president. I saw guys wearing MAGA hats shattering windows and breaking in doors. And he still has two weeks.

A few broken windows compared to 1000s of broken windows by people NOT wearing MAGA hats over a 4 year period, businesses burned to the ground by people NOT wearing MAGA hats, 100s of people attacked and k**led by people NOT wearing MAGA hats over a 4 year period and the country being run by those who promote all of that and you ask a question like that? Of course you probably haven’t seen any of the liberal violence over the past 4 years I’ll bet. How is it you see what a MAGA hat does in one day but you completely miss everything far left wing groups do for 4 years? I think the answer is pretty clear. You v**e in A****A and the people who support them I.E. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and we will see a civil war and there’s no question about that. There’s little doubt the Harris administration will be anything other than a socialist administration. She’s proved that many times over. Joe Biden is merely her puppet. You HAVE to know that by now. “Come on man!”. Not all of us fall for everything Biden says.

I really don't care who those people wearing those hats were. They were encouraged and incited to action by the president of the United States. One of them, a young lady from San Diego I've been told, was shot and k**led. There are some things that are worth laying down you life for. An attempted c**p on the US? Apparently you will never tire of being an apologist for this prick. "I'll be with you." Right. Stir the crap then go sit in front of your TV and watch the result. Done.

I’m not apologizing for anyone. Just not blaming the wrong person. Sad you’re oblivious and judge according to media. I wasn’t the one who proved it was A****A. They were encouraged by your buddy Biden and the entire corrupt extreme left. I’ll not resort to calling people names as you do but I can tell you you are sadly mistaken again on this one but I wish you the best of luck. It’s far from over. It’s only started and you v**ed for this. Thank you sir🙏. I’d suggest you start praying now.
