Hello, everyone! I’m known as the Catfish Queen back home in KY but am new to saltwater fishing. First time out, I caught a snook that was in the slot! Now I’m completely and totally addicted. Still overwhelmed by how much there is to learn but have found other fishing addicts to be very helpful. Thanks to all of you for the helpful posts and amusing stories!
Hey Qween down, I 'm from Indiana, parked down in Port charlotte for 3 months, I to have caught one snook. They are a nice fight. Have fun.

Way to go FG. I fish the Keys every year and have never caught a Snook. Great catch and welcome to the forum. Keep an eye on that Red Tide. Gordon
Hi there Qween, welcome to the stage. Keep one thing in mind here. A fish story is just another fish story without pictures 🤔 camera phones kinda took the BS out of a fish 🐟 story. LMAO.

Welcome to the Forum, Fishgal, We like gals who fish and we like pictures.
Welcome Queen. This is Rich I live on Lake Griffin in Leesburg, FL. About 2 hrs NE of you. I fish F for Bass and Crappie out of my 22 ft Hurricane Deck boat. Do you ever get over this way?
No, we don’t. But we also have a Hurricane! The SD2690. I can fish from it and my husband dives. The Grady-White hull design lets us get way out in the Gulf. Hurricane makes some nice boats!
Welcome fishingal and yes we all like pictures.

We have catfish here too! We have 2 different saltwater cats the hardhead and the gaftopsail (commonly known as sail cat). The sail cats are the better eating, the meat is white but both are good eating. You need to know that because of Red Tide we had a couple years ago that Snook, Red fish & Spotted Sea Trout are CATCH & RELEASE till May 2021. Even if the Snook was within slot it's out of season. The laws have changed on Flounder also. Anyway welcome from across the bay and we like pictures too.

We have catfish here too! We have 2 different saltwater cats, the most common is the hardhead which I smoke and the gaftopsail cat the better eating one. Because of the Red Tide we had a couple years ago Snook, Red fish and trout are catch & release till May 2021. Then depending on red tide and where your fishing then season on the fish will be set. Sheepshead, Black Drum and other fish still OK. Anyway welcome from across the bay. Well maybe 2 bays.
