Welcome reelhooker. You any relation to the weekendhooker? I can't help you out, I know nothing about fishing in the gulf. But we do love photos, so please post some.

Well, it would be a hard decision to make because every bay in Texas has something special going for it. I would have to select Lake Sabine,simply because it is possibly the most ignored and least fished. Other than that, Port Mansfield offers a lot of productive water and access to the Gulf. Then if you have a crowd to please with other things, go to South Padre Island for all the amenities. Just Sayin....RJS

Welcome to the Forum, RH, I have fished a lot of the Gulf's bays and I like South Padre Island the best because it is the warmest beside the Keys, but then it is a lot cheaper than the Keys. I usually use live shrimp for bait.
