I am from southwest Wisconsin and love to fish all year long. I enjoy fishing crappies, bass and walleyes. The Wisconsin River and it’s backwaters are where I spend my most time. Furthermore, I enjoy learning more fishing tactics and often share information with others when requested. I retired 2 years ago and fish 3-4 days a week. I am planning a ice fishing trip to the Hayward, WI area in the near future.

Welcome aboard Lurehappylou.

Good luck with the ice fishing. A lot to learn here and a lot of help needed. No exceptions here. Catch us up with some pictures if you can.

I am looking forward to my ice fishing trip. In my area the fishing has been slow recently. I will hopefully have photos to submit.

Welcome to the Forum, Lhl. I'm from Caledonia, MN. Where are you from in SW. WI. I fish the Miss. River all of the time. Maybe we can hook up sometime, I show you the Miss. and you show me the WI. I have never fished the WI. but I heard that it is decent.

Not many members from this area on here. I think we are the only two. There are a few from Western WI. and up by the Cities.

Hey Lou,
I grew up fishing the Wisconsin river from below the Dells dam and about 20 miles south but not as far as Portage. I would like to fish some backwaters myself of that river. I like crappie fishing too. Where are those backwaters? Hank

Welcome Lou,
I am on the other side of the state, but fish the WI River often...mostly around the Lodi/Merrimac area on the Lake WI stretch. Would love to learn a bit more about the SW part of the state for fishing, duck, turkey and deer hunting.

Boscobel has a great landing for getting on the WI River. Sm and Lg mouth fishing is exceptional along with walleye, Crappie and gills.

I love turkey hunting and Boscobel is known as the Wild Turkey hunting capital of WI. Deer hunting is another passion.

I promised my Wife we would take more day trips around WI next year. Too many areas we have passed through, but left unexplored.
