Back in 1991I was working as a desk clerk at a resort on Gull Lake in Minnesota (near Brainerd). Opening day, a company had hired a dozen guides for a dozen guests. That morning I happened to be working the desk and was more than a little bummed out that I wasn't able to go out that morning myself.
By the time they got back I was done with work and waiting at one of the docks. They all seem Ed pretty happy and I hollered over to one of the guys. How did you do? The guy closest to me yelled back, " what do you think about this one and threw it up on the bank. Before I knew it I was being pummeled by walleye by all of them and they were laughing so hard I even started laughing even though I was the good natured assault victim.
Finally, I asked one of the guides jig and minnow? He laughed and said no crawlers.. huh? He showed me a three hook Crawler harness. He had three little light orange colored beads and then a chartreuse colored spinner. The spinner was followed about a half inch by the first hook and the remaining two hooks were both spaced about 1and1/2 inches apart.
To this day I have been using the exact same rig no matter the season or lake with much success!
Lunker's love nightcrawlers great book. It will tell you anything you want to know about fishing with Crawlers.
I am a newbie to the forum.
I fish Walleye here in NJ from May to October. I use a 2 hook nightwalker harness with 5 beads and a number 3 Colorado spinner blade on a clevis. The blade color we vary. This rig we slow troll along the drop offs with great success.

This may be a duplicate message; I can't remember if I hit the send button. George2, could please describe your Walleye lure in more detail, I would like to try and duplicate it.
Respectfully,

I use to fish lake Eire alot, we used a lure called an Erie deery with night crawers, drift and cast, count and crank....always caught nice fish.
I'm sorry, I assume the above mentioned jig would work well in other areas in the same manner...
