So true I remember my first fish was with my grandpa and it was a bluegill. Only fish I caught all that day but I’ll never forget the time we had. that was almost 50 yrs ago if I could just turn time back just once and live it again.

I know I will. Catching a 3 inch perch was more fun than 16 years with her.

I started fishing and catching so young. So many first. First sunfish, first humongous carp probably 12". They all run togeather. But first wife. Ill carry that to my grave. She chased me around the house with my single bit axe. Never saw her without 2 lawers after that. I still have that axe!

Wow! I can't compete with that. Mine wanted her way on everything. She only wanted sex to get pregnant, wanted a second child when the marriage was crap, never wanted to go anywhere or do anything but shop with her mom. Years of fun and joy gone. Fishing in a thunderstorm while getting eaten alive by mosquitoes while sticking hot needles in my eyes, would have been more fun.

RJ Wish I could remember any of my first fish caught. The closest I come is I was 4 years old in Lake Erie fishing with my father and another man in my dad's homemade boat far enought out I couldn't see land. My dad would bait my hook cast it out and hand me the rod. I didn't know when you felt the bump bump on your line that was a fish biting. Needless to say I didn't catch anything but they did. I didn't ask. I didn't want to embarrass my dad or myself. I've inherited that very rod and reel when my dad died.
