Hi....My name is Steve Hardin and I live in Arlington, TX. I usually fish on Cedar Creek Lake or Lake Tawakoni...but I sold my boat, and now my Grandsons want to go fishing.....they are 8,6nand 4. I'm wondering if there are any good places around Joshua Texas with a good fishing pier or some dock I can safely take these boys to fish. I am 74 and have lost some of my mobility.....but can still get around pretty good. If anybody knows of a good spot.....E-mail me at (e-mail address removed for privacy), or call at (phone number removed for privacy). Thanks
Check for state lakes. In Alabama we state lakes that limit the boast to electric motors, Trolling motors, but there area around 1/2 to 3/4 and some all of the way around for bank fishing and most have fishing piers with both shallow and deeper water access. Can probably find it with a search for Texas State Public lakes. Most if not all have a small store where you can find fishing accessories, state & lake license, snacks, some have boat rentals, etc. They have pics. of different species and are usually run by retired personnel that are super nice people. You are going to need to take some help with for that age boys. I know I would. I don't take my 4 yr. old by myself and I'm 64 and get around pretty good for being disabled. Just saying it would be better than have something happen.
Burleson has a nice pond off of hidden creek parkway. You could also go to Keene, there is a nice size lake off 917 I believe. Can’t miss it, right in town easy access
