So I just got some snap links and im about to start making my rigs. What knot should I use to attach my rigs to the snap link? I want one that allows me to be able to just take my rig off and put a new one on (preferably without having to redo the knot every time).

I only use a Palomar knot. Have you tried that knot?

Not yet. Ive been using the uni for mostly everything because I use braid and its supposedly better for that than the palomar. Would the palomar be easy to remove without it unraveling?

Yeah, this is “the” knot for most all types of line. Make sure you moistened it before tightening, especially with fluorocarbon.

If I am needing something new, I just cut the line.

ahh, alright. Do you use snap links? I just got one so I can quickly swap between lures. I just dont want to attach the lure to the link itself directly so I have some leader and I just want to be able to swap it freely. I was thinking that maybe a noose would work, but idk how that works with braid.

Yes I use swivel snaps. I have one set up on my walleye trolling rig that has braid. The Palomar not has never failed me... I also use them on my spinning rig that I use for all sorts of cast fishing, but that isn't braided line.

I'm not sure at all what you're asking, are you asking if you can make a slip-knot for attaching leaders? If so good luck throwing all of your terminal and tackle into the water because you're going to break off when that knot slips and there's friction. Tie a uni or Palomar knot when connecting to terminal, different types of knots only become useful in specific situations.

Fishing requires patience and for you to do things right, every single time, or you simply catch less or no fish at all. You can use snap- swivels to connect lures but you're not a child who can't tie a knot to properly present a lure.

Palomar to your snap. I use snap links on my kayak for speedy lure changes but it really only saves about 10 seconds. Palomar is so easy and fast and I've used it with all 3 major line types of all sizes with zero issues.

To tie and untie fishing line would take you longer than just cutting it and starting over. Not sure if your trying to save time or fishing line.

Use an "Overhand Loop Knot" or a "Bowline"... You would need to carry a needle & 2 pair of tweezers, if you're planning on UNTYING them, but, either should HOLD a loop well.

Just cut and re-tie. Quick and effective

Use the same knot used to create the loop on a "snelled hook".
