Hello, we are a family of four currently traveling fulltime, tracking our journey through IG and Facebook. We have two boys 5 and 8 who EAT, SLEEP, BREATHE fishing. So much so we are thinking of starting them their own fishing YouTube channel. We are currently in Assateague area making our way south stopping to fish anywhere we can. If anyone has any tips, secret spots, or may even be willing to get these boys on the water that would be amazing. We want to encourage this passion they have but we’re new to it ourselves. We have almost any and all gear I think we could need. Just need some tips. HELP!!

Welcome to the Fishing Stage, mspaulding27! I myself, have spent a good amount of time, at being "a full time traveler"; but, honestly, USUALLY "flying solo" ... I DID travel for all of about 5 or 6 months, back in the year ¿1990 something low?/ my female counterweight, until almost all resources and "goodwill of family members" got used up... I doubt I can be of MUCH help to you, as I mainly worked the back deck of commercial fishing vessels, (and a few "Merchant Boats") while "travelling"... Ya really can't plan on doing that/ a family; until you "pick an address". [At least, I strongly advise, to not even try it, without an address and 3 months of rent paid in advance, along/ food money y etc..] (Rarely threw a hook overboard {at the hill} in much of any type of water, in the direction you're headed, unless you make it to Port Canaveral and south. ... Or, if you head over towards Louisiana, there was a heckofalotta good fishing there still, in the 1970's... ¿See what I mean, by not much help?... I know WHERE some "Free food & showers" can be found, scattered here & there; other than that... Don't be shy/ "the locals";;; but,,, "keep your cards close to your vest".
Best of luck to ya, and again: ¡Welcome!

Thank you for all the great info. We are choosing this lifestyle for now. We worked hard, owned a home, and sold everything to travel fulltime and show our kids the world! With that being said in order for us to stay on the road as long as possible we try to boondock anytime we can. Wether it be a local willing to let us stay on their land, family, friends, or forest service roads, blm land. Wherever it’s legal really. We are self sufficient, set up with solar. No need for hookups. Just enjoying life and fishing any chance we get.

I didn't mean to imply/ infer, that yous were HOMELESS... I never "viewed" myself as being THAT; just "a traveler" (who NEEDED to "generate an income", on a relatively constant basis).
THAT being said, if you DO find yourself wishing you could earn some money (even just "get by money", to KEEP YOU FROM {"fiddling up your principal" &} BECOMING HOMELESS), get some free food or a free shower... (Sometimes INCLUDING a place to park/ camp for anywhere from a night to a month or so...), you are more than welcome, to "PM me", y we can "talk"... I know they'll be harvesting citrus fruit, at about the latitude of Orlando, starting anytime soon, but very tall trees, that far north; the last time I was concerned about it. Further south, there should be plenty of citrus and "maters" and melons; other produce to harvest, around the first of the year (& a bit <) ...
Didn't (& don't) mean any kind of an insult. ... Able

Oh no, no insult taken at all. I honestly just didn’t want it to come across like I was asking something of anyone...except for maybe some fishing tips. I appreciate all the great feedback

Welcome mspsaulding27 to the stage. I can’t help you on that side of the country but if you make it to the Olympic peninsula I can help put you on the fish 🐠. We think it’s awesome that you were able to cut the cord and show your family this great country of ours. What kind of Rv are you living in? I’m guessing a bunk unit. lol. Lynny and I full timed it for about a year in a 40’ fiver. If you want to send a link to your FB it would be fun to follow your adventures. Good luck and tight lines.

Very knowledgeable guys. Good luck to you all on your adventure. If ya get up this way PM me. Tight lines

That’s amazing, thank you for the opportunity. If/when we make it back up that way I’ll keep in touch. We have been on the road about 1 1/2 years now. We left the PNW before embarking on this adventure. We lived in the Portland area. We were in a 24’ class C but recently sold that and switched to a 2021 Rockwood travel trailer 24’. The boys have bunks now previously they were sharing the upper bunk of the class C 😉 my Facebook is www.facebook.com/melissa.spaulding.520 and my IG is I'm on Instagram as towhead_travels. Thank you!! We will most definitely be heading south for the winter. My boys watch a number of YouTube fishing channels that’s where we learn most of what we know so far. We will have to look at those two tonight. They like catch em all and black tip h

Welcome to FS mspaulding27 !
I have a friend from HS that travels full time with his wife in their motor home. They’ve been doing it for several years and as a CPA can still work but is semiretired. They love it. They travel with several other motor homes in a caravan all over the U.S.. My wife and I have been thinking of “doing it”, but so far, haven’t taken the leap. Not sure I have the energy to pull it off. Good luck in your travels and thanks for sharing the pics of your son and fish.

Thank you!! It’s been an amazing adventure. I would highly suggest you get up the energy. We have seen some of the most beautiful places our country has to offer. You only live once.

Sounds like your living the dream! Most people only talk it.
It looks like your boys are already doing a great job hooking up! I will defiantly look up your travels.

I put a post up here titled kids and fishing. Might be able to locate some kids for yours to fish with if their in the area.
Have fun, Oh your already doing that! Enjoy!

We stalled and talked for a LONG time before we finally said let’s just do it. We have met some other families doing similar things. Some have become lifelong friends that we have reconnected with in different places. Anytime my kids meet other kids that fish, it’s an immediate bond. It’s been an awesome adventure to say the least
