Welcome to the forum JD. Use a bigger hook and bait. Therefore the fish you catch will be bigger. You have a blessed week too. Tight lines.

T Croft my friend I have been using Voodoo and Corky lures that was made by Mr Brown in Houston. Haven't bought any since he sold out. I sure like some of the Voodoo lures. I pray your line will always be tight. Y'all have a blessed and safe week

Not sure what lakes you are close to, but my good friend is from Arlington TX and he provided me this fishing report this morning:
Water stained; 85 degrees; 0.32 high.
Largemouth bass are fair on topwater plugs, senkos, deep-diving crankbaits, and Texas-rigged plastic worms.
Crappie are good among structures such as boat docks and partially shaded vegetation on minnows and jigs.
Catfish are good on live bait and prepared baits in 8-25’.

Hope it helps out with some higher fish for you.

Hello JDStacey: You are in a great spot. I'm sure you are aware that spotted weak fish --trout are a schooling fish. So, are you wade fishing, or from a boat? I'd just move and find a different school. Move up from the first grade or kindergarten to a more mature and robust school of trout. You might also find a school of reds! Just Sayin...RJS

I am pier fishing in Bayou Vista on my cousin private pier in a tributary that feeds water into the little canals. I have been catching my limit. But lately the fish have become smaller so I have been catching and releasing. My last trip out I wound up with 3 trout losing one because I tried to land without a net looked to be 20+ inches. That want happen again. I don't mind wade fishing and San Leon Pass is close. My friends y'all have a blessed week I pray y'all have tight lines.
