Welcome to the forum and yes there are several folks on here from up around Redding. I'm a ways south of you, but I get up there every once in a while. You are going to hear from people. They're probably all out fishing right now, trying to stay cool and safe.

Have you fished Eagle before? That's a pretty typical Eagle trout in that photo. That was a while ago. Back when you had to display you license. 2003?

Yes, I really like to fish it in October-November-December,as there are really big fish then
I usually fish iot once or twice per summer.
I have a friend in Burney. that fishes it often, and I will be fishing with him tomorrow

If I do not catch one 2 1/2 or above, I am disapointed

When I was up there last, they had a two fish limit and when you caught one, you had to keep it, catch and release was not allowed, so no culling. Is it still like that, do you know? We were catching ours the old fashioned way - with a nightcrawler under a bobber. They would come up into the shallows to feed on the minnows in the morning and you threw a worm out there you were guaranteed a fish. a woolybugger behind a casting bubble was deadly also. Hey I wish you well. Have a good time, be safe, stay healthy.

Hi N! I’m in Redding. I love fishing the McCloud Reservoir! I have also gone up and fished Hornbrook a time or two. I hear it’s not doing too well. Lots of weed growth. Use to be some great Perch fishing there! I never have fished Lake Siskiyou...... Oh.... and welcome to the Forum!

I am in Mendocino County. I fish a lot on Upper Sac, Upper and Lower McCloud, and sometimes Hat Creek up past Lassen. Upper McCloud is basically ruined. They advertise it in the Bay Area, attracting 20 times as many people as used to go there, and they literally pour farm fish in by the thousands. I'm just waiting for the graffiti to arrive and cover the 3 falls. A real shame.
I like the Upper Sac but it is not easy catching fish unless you know a good hole, which I don't...yet.
I also fish the Trinity once in a while.
Mike
