I live in the pacific northwest and am an avid trout and salmon flyfisherman. I travel and fish Wa,Mt,Id, and British Columbia ca as well as Vancounver Island. I would like to travel to North Florida this year in pursuit of Redfish. Anyone who coujld give me some suggestions on locations woujld be greatly appreciated.
If ther is anhyone out there who would like to learn the hot spots on the Northwest let me know. There are lakes in British Columbia that I fish where 10lb rainbows are common.

Thanks

Hi. I live just 20 miles from Destin, Fla. ( The luckiest fishing village in the world). But I don't fish for redfish. How ever if you would like I can get any information you might need. I've caught a few reds while bass fishing and they do fight great. There is a certain time they run better than other times, that would be your best bet on finding them. I'll ask some of the ol' salts when tis is for you if you want. Bill

The guys I talked to thinks June and July are the best months for reds in our area. Of course some are caught year round. Yelp I'm almost totally bass. Once in awhile I'll bream fish or snatch mullet but mostly bass.

Tom the bass fishing can be good any time of the year around here. There again you can have a day like yesterday when we didn't even get a fish but that's very rare. The only fly fishing I've ever done was with popping bugs for blue gill and that was years ago. I will stick with the bass. Buddy if you can afford it I would suggest a half day trip with a guide. This would give you a lot of info on where and how to catch reds in what ever area you decide to try. Bill
