Surf fishing on Georgia's coast

I live a pretty good drive from the coast, about 3 hours in Georgia. I grew up fishing the beaches of NE Florida and love surf fishing. I was wondering if there was any folks on here closer to the coast that I could contact prior to making the trek to the coast.

would be much better to call the pier or a bait shop where in Ga on the coast
