I live near downtown Los Angeles in Koreatown. Am looking for a fishing partner, for ocean shore fishing. I catch fish ever time I go. Last time I didn't catch fish was 6-2014. I fish appx. every 3 weeks. Some of the fish I've (& a Friend) have caught from my spot over the past few years. Can reach me at: carinolawrence@yahoo.com

Larrry40 I'm starting to get into surf fishing up the coast above Bodega Bay. What type of rig do you use. I notice some pretty nice perch there. That's what I'm mainly targeting up here. I'd be real interested in any tips, tackle, bait, all that stuff.

Hey Egghead is Flaming Gorge reservoir froze over? Pathfinder and Alcove near me don't have solid ice, but then about a 1000 ft lower.

A regular surf pole, 15-20 lb test; 2oz weight on the bottom & mustard 2 or 4 hook on an appx 12 inch leader, tied appx 24 inches above the weight. I use fresh muscles for bait; however if you can get sand crabs they work well too. My friend caught that 20-21 inch Surf Perch, biggest I've ever seen in 20yrs fishing here. I caught an 18 inch a few years ago.

I haven't been up to Seminole, or Kortes. There's some ice on Pathfinder and Alcova but like I said don't think I trust it
Im down in Casper and live right on the North Platte. It is all ice jam from up above....no way I trust that ice. Well anyhow I was just curious if you were ice fishing out your way. Tight lines and fish on!!!

Bodega Bay. Try The Pier at Point Arena. My Cousin is there quite often by boat. There probably is other ways to fish without a boat around there too.

I went up there this past October from Gualala to give it a try. The wind was howling and the surf was outrageously high. I'll go back another day. (my wife just read this over my shoulder - said Oh you want to go back to point your anus?)

Is that an opal eye in the first picture? If so that's a pretty good-sized one.

I am in thousand oaks and sure would like to know where that spot is. I usually go to ventura beach but the fish are much smaller there.

Hi Larry 40. New on the stage and saw your post. Some terrific catches. I am here in Westlake Village and hope to get into some good surf fishing. Would like to stay in touch and maybe connect with you down the road. Keep up the super fishing and tight lines.

Recovering from surgery right now and can't get out there yet. I was doing very well off the Oxnard beaches for a while. Started trying spots more north but haven't really connected with any hot spots. I know there are some just haven't located them yet. I used to go out on my fishing boat but it got to be too much for me so I sold it and discovered perch fishing. Lots of fun and they are good eating as well.
