Nice trophy Mike. I hope you found it where it's legal for you to keep it. I've found several in new mexico national forest but I didn't have the $10,000 fine so I let them lay. That's a nice size point also. Hope you can find info that might tell you a lot about the point & the people that made them.

Yes it’s a legal find. Their is some areas where you can’t hunt them mainly the islands on the river

Nice find. I have several and one of my nephews has over 200 that he found on a part of farm that is near a creek. Also pieces of pottery. Every time we plowed the field he would go missing everyday.

I have a couple buddy’s and they have sifters that’s about two foot square about 3/8 mesh and they do well finding them

So it could have come from the islands that you mention. Makes one wonder about the history behind it. The days of playing cowboys and Indians in the woods as a kid suddenly come to truth in your hand.
