Prayer for my marriage, daily prayer for the married.

I have literally NO memory left, I suffer tremendously with CRS. Therefore, I script prayers and write them down, for I can read them later, either aloud or to myself, and that way I can remember everything I needed to complain about lol...seriously though, the way we pray and word our petitions matter. This is why I write them out in posts, to properly petition our Lord. I wrote this prayer today, and I'm going to use it daily. If you want, anyone is welcome to take these words and make them personal to you and yours. God Bless and Keep you guys today as we all go about our day.

Dear God, my Heavenly Father..

Today I proclaim, my marriage is Yours Lord, I submit it to You and Your perfect care. May You help me in my role as a husband, to be a man of virtue, of patience, and of love. I pray that my marriage relationship would reflect Your great love, the agape, the good stuff...by the way we treat one another. I pray that my wife and I would not seek to benefit ourselves but each other, and that we wouldn't seek to fulfill our own wills, but rather strive together to fulfill Your Will. I pray for my wife. Strengthen her and heal her from whatever sickness-spirit, and quickly. I pray You strengthen me to lead my family in love and trust. Bless her, encourage her, and feed her soul, Lord God. I pray that we would intentionally invest into our marriage daily, growing together in perfect or imperfect harmony. I love my wife and I thank You for her and our daughter that she brought me. No one else has ever been able to do that Father, and I love and praise You and thank You for them both.

Heavenly Father I thank You for the gift of marriage, and a softened heart to be able to marry anyone. I pray that my wife and I can continue to build trust with each other. I pray that we will remain faithful to the vows we committed to, and strive to be ever increasing in finding ways to improve communications and improve our relationship together. I thank You Lord, for showing us how to extend grace to one another and forgive any trespasses, especially when our hearts would rather be, and are screaming to remain, hard. I pray that we continue to communicate and forgive each other as needed throughout our marriage, and through that forgiveness we can move forward in rebuilding trust, trust lost from previous, worldly relationships. Help us Lord, to trust ourselves in parenting, with finances, with decisions made, and time spent apart from one another. Help me to further lean on Trish as a partner, because her partnership is golden and pure.

Father, I pray that Trish and I would be filled with Your Holy Spirit, willing to serve each other daily. Give us eyes to see each others needs and hearts that are eager to fulfill those needs. I pray that we are joyful in serving one another, even when it feels overwhelming or inconvenient...which it never is, keep us in this joyful state Lord God. Help us to keep each other FIRST, above ALL things before You Father. Help us keep each other in mind no matter the situation. Lord inspire us to be kind in all of our actions toward each other. Help us to serve with smiles on our faces and that "love" be the motive for each and every thing we do. I pray these things in Jesus Name, Amen.

These last years have been nothing short of miraculous. In less than a months time we will have been married for two years solid. Where has the time gone, it screamed by...and is still moving quickly. Life is way too short to be anything short of loving and kind, which I am learning, a hard and daunting work in process...but so worth it, because she is so worth it. I love my wife and daughter, they are my every single thing. The most love I've ever encountered, or even knew existed. Thank you God for Trish, and thank you Trish, for being you. Your love and the love you show me is unmatched, no words can describe it. I love you, my wife. You are my best friend, best love, best everything...my wife and soulmate, and I am so grateful to God for you and our family. I'm so proud of you! I'm so proud of us!! I believe Gods proud too... I love you Trisha, my wife. ❤

Denny have you considered writing an autobiography for self help readings? This is so well written as others you have posted.

Don't think I will memorize it, but it will come in handy to read on occasion.

Thanks you my friends.

DL,

No soap box theatrics, you my friend belong behind the podium.

Or walking around with a mic how ever you are most comfortable.

Just keep it coming.

We are blessed with your presence.

I am anyway.

Wow great response!I couldn't find time yesterday to come back to the site and answer comments.. Teri came over again so we could further set her up with her recovery. It's amazing when someone actually grabs ahold of help offered, it's a breath of fresh air, and literally Spiritual Paydirt!!

As for pastoral things.. I'm actually in the middle of being mentored by one of the pastors here in town, and he is helping me get set up at Regent University online for Christian Ministry and Leadership degree (major)... I do feel pulled in that direction. I'm not very comfortable on stage in ANY sense...yet.

As for an autobiography, I'm not sure.. I have some things in mind but in it's very infant stages. Meaning, I've lived a very, very full life... I've done more in my time than most, bad or good. I feel like I've lived through three lifetimes with everything that's happened and how full my life has been, so to speak. Trisha too.. so, we've been talking this last year or so about co-authoring a book.. devotionals, testimonials, and strait up miracles we have witnessed with our own eyes and bodies.. things like that. Including our own testimonies as well. I am also trying to put together a sobriety "outline" for lack of a better word, and try to outline how I did things to gain sobriety and recovery, my failures and my wins.. I think someone would benefit from that, no doubt.

Thank you guys for the encouragement, I appreciate you!!! GodBless and Keep you my friends!

I'm also looking into the Veteran Administration areas... Chaplin services and/or social work. Theres a big gray area within the VA system when it comes to the faith. Most councilors in the VA are well versed in "State" social work, but when it comes to Christianity and social work, they dont recognize all that... I understand separation of church and state, and I believe it's a necessary liberty, however I also believe that we of the faith, SHOULD have the liberty to speak and counsel how we seem fit as well... fair is fair, right?

That's one of the bigger reasons for going into the VA system... I want to find a way to show Vets the love of Christ, the fullness of Christ, and the wholeness He brings to our lives. Some people will get angry, that's ok...but some others will be saved. That's a worthy response and reason enough for me to try and fight the good fight from within...
