Fish Finder suggestions $250 and under

Hey! As the title suggests, I’m looking for recommendations for a good fish finder around $250. I really love the hummingbird Helix 5 chirp, gps, DI but can’t find them for under $350 and that’s without a mount and transducer. I also want to use it for ice fishing if possible. I want to start exploring bigger lakes and think the fish finder will help identify structure. Any suggestions?

Also, I mainly target large and small mouth bass

Personally if you’ve got one picked out already, I’d check Craigslist and FB Marketplace. I managed to snag my Lowrance Elite-7Ti for under $400 on CL, with Totalscan transducer and all of the wiring. It’s just a matter of finding the deals.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve been doing for a few months with no luck.

Keep at it. I kept looking at eBay for months and eventually picked up an Elite 7Ti for about 150. No wiring included, but I had all that from what I was upgrading from, and even if not, buying the wiring was still a deal.

I bet after Christmas you'll find a lot of stuff from other people upgrading.

I have a new Humminbird ice helix 5 gps unit. $600 with the boat transducer. I haven't even used it yet and wish I would have picked another manufacturer. They don't provide a written owners manual, and the one you download covers all the fish finders (hundreds it seems). I have found the internet site the hardest to get registered and use of any site I have ever been on. I watched a teaching video from a paid Humminbird rep. that started with the 80/20 rule. He said 80% of the people only know how to use 20% of their fish finder. After spending hours and hours on their site I now know why. Don't buy Humminbird!!!
