Hey guys I'm pretty new to fishing (just got my rod and everything last week). I know some of the basics from when I went fishing with my dad as a little kid but o could use some tips. I've spent probably 10 or so hours this weekend fishing (3 different stocked ponds) and havent even gotten a nibble. I've used worms and power bait mainly. I'm in arizona if that makes any difference

Trout with the powerbait and catfish with the worms

For the trout you gotta make sure your powerbait is floating but also a relatively small amount and when you roll it onto your hook you can try different styles/ shapes of the bait I normally just use it round but for some reason when its a tough bite I like to make it longer like a worm almost. It also helps to have a variety of power bait so you can narrow down the color they want if its a small body of water id say 15-20 min no bites change color hope that helps some

Yea I've got 2 kinds right now but would definitely take some recommendations on what works best for you. Right now all I've got is a cheese and the extra strong scented green one with some glitter in it

I personally always pick up rainbow with and without glitter or sents, red white and blue and here recently I've found a black licorice flavor orange that works too but when it comes down to it you'll always be buying power bait lol and if it sitting isn't working trying moving it slowly tho to keep the pb off the bottom then letting it sit and repeat

There's some lures that I like to throw like Roster tail spinners and you can never go wrong with a panther Martin or a super duper I think they are called just make sure to have small snap swivels because they will twist up your line good luck ! (Choose the colors based off what you've caught them on before but gold and silver are good to start)

Yea I bought some lures from walmart but it's probably safe to assume that since they were from Walmart they are probably pretty cheap

Welcome to the Forum, 3r. My limited experience with freshly socked rainbows is that they will hit anything for the first few times that they are caught. Make your hooks aren't too big, your line to heavy and the curl on your lips is just right.

Pump a little air in your worms.

Insulin syringes work well for that.
