Hey everyone, funny thing happened... I lost the link to the forum and wasn't receiving any emails or updates from the site, so I lost you guys for a while.

Just letting you know I am still alive and kicking, and am ready to jump back into the fray ๐Ÿ˜‰.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and the future holiday season is planning on being a good one.

I am actually going to be attending the Texas Viking Festival and going in full Valkyrie costume, so I am excited about that. I bought a new Lew's 4000 6:4:1 spinning reel and am loving it, but couldn't find a matching or 2 piece pole that worked for me.... the hunt continues on that.

Tried lake fishing today and got bubkiss, I was reminded of the fact that I hate lake fishing for sure. My last two trips to the Colorado wielded much better results; 3 Guadalupe bass, 1 largemouth and about 15 mini catfish The 7-10 inch variety of blue and channel cats, I call them Kitten Fish) all catch and release but my casting and trick shots have really improved; so that makes me happy.

I am also going to start Volunteering with a horse and burro rescue, specifically focusing on rehabing the new mustang they just got a few months ago. I met him for the first time today and the owner said that I am the first person he has never ran away from and I had him eating out of my hands (the horse that is). His name is Lakota and was rescued from a kill pen in Oklahoma. I am attaching a picture because as far as I am concerned he is my new baby, lol.

Talk with y'all soon!

Welcome back Jess, missed you. Looks like you will be busy with the pony hope it is fun for you. Lakes are like rivers, just gotta learn how to read em. Once you do you can get consistent just like you are on the river.

Nothing will take the place of fishing for me, but rehabbing mustangs is a passion of mine as well. I am 1/8 Sioux, and I feel a deep connection with horses. Heck today (I guess it is today since it's almost 3:30), I plan on going fishing again. Going to try a new place closer to Austin on the Colorado.

Jess Alynn, that's great about your rescued horse
I have rescued 2 cats and a dog that I now have and love. I live and fish in central Fl. Do you ever get down this way?

Shes back, hopefully a little more often. Them wild horses need all the help they can get and lots of abandoned horses need rescued too. Locally their is some horse eating bandits taking folks livestock? Expensive race horses too! That`s just SAD! Happened a few years ago and they are back at it again.

Itโ€™s not my horse, I am just training him for the rescue that I volunteer for! I WISH I could have land and a herd of my own.... (and river access of course) ๐Ÿ˜” So volunteering is the closest I can get to my dream.

I am actually going to Disney world next September (my third time), and have been to Clearwater and Tampa Bay.

Keep up the good work. A lot of animals need people like you. I foster Goldens and Blue tick hounds
