You guys are forgetting that I'm young & very impressionable but most of all I'm pretty heavily medicated right now.i sure hope I can forget to show this to my wife & ask her what it means. Wife picked up my pain pill refill today & i'm going to have a talk with that dr tomorrow. I've been feeling fine on that perkaset every 3 hours now he wants me to wait 4 whole stinking hours between doses. That could cause me excessive pain & misery.
Sounds like doc doesn't want you getting hooked bc on pain killers. Could be weening you off of that stuff. We and he know you are in pain, but no where near the pain you will be in if you get hooked.

Plumbob might be right on that one bottomcoon. Dr. knows best.
I certainly don't want to take one of these pills a day longer than prescribed. A few years ago when I broke my wrist & required 2 surgeries the dr gave me a 30 day script for a painkiller & when that ran out he prescribed a different pill for the 2nd 30 days. This rotating scripts kept me from getting hooked on 1 medication as I had to take it for several months with therapy. I have my 1st appointment with the dr next week & will ask him about the chance of addition. I can tell you guys this for a New York fact, none of us know how our bodies will react to any introduced chemical but I see no shame, if it happened to me, in stepping right up & saying I need help here. Another thing, I want you guys to know I really honor your support.
As long as you take them as prescribed for real pain, chances are excellent you won’t become addicted. This “opidemic” is very real, and a very real problem. One part of the problem is that people have been taking these meds correctly for years without problems. Now as in so many other things, those few who abuse them make it hard for people who actually need them. BC, you have a lot of friends here who are supporting you. You’re a smart guy, you and your doctor will get you through this, with a full recovery.
My 1st post op appointment is dec 10. My goal is to walk into his office unsupported by anything but my cane. I can do it. I walked out to my small shop today. Tomorrow I'm going to my large shop, that's further than the distance I'll need to walk at the medical offices. Yes, you guys have been supportive & I'll not forget it.
