Bank, not a good story my friend. A lot of these markets are doing that service that you call it in or go online and they bring it to your car. However you are probably like most of us on the site Stubborn!!!

Take care now you have an excuse to stay in where its warmer.

This past August I was doing a little shopping at the local Lowe's. I was transferring my purchases from my shopping cart to my truck and as I was finishing up the cart started rolling across the lot and was going to crash into another parked vehicle. Without thinking I lurched after it to grab it before it could get away. I ended up on my knees in the parking lot. Turns out I fractured my fibula up by my knee. Look before you leap. A person's got to know their limitations. And another one from my days working with Navy SEALS - don't let too much "can-do" do you in.

Just don't go thinking you can chase it down if it gets away from you. Walk carefully and determinedly. I'm not old either. I'm 71. And apparently kinda brittle.

I always push the cart...because I am lazy, I think. Watched granny peppercorn take a dive a couple of months ago and helped her. Sorry you are gonna miss out on winter fishing. Sorry about the pain and inconvenience. Bummer.

Keep your chin up and your eye clear.

Nowadays I always use a cart while shopping and push it out to the car; helps my back to have something to lean on while I'm shopping ! Some time back, in N.H. (when they were still using paper bags), I went out for a few items the day after a bad rainstorm; the apartment parking lot was a sheet of ice, covered with two inches of water ! Parked the car, took the two bags out of the back seat, took two steps and WHOOPS ! I'm lying on my back in the water, soaked from my knees to my shoulders, and whacked my head (which is fortunately pretty hard) on the ice ! Now I have to round up all my groceries which are scattered all over the yard (including UNDER the car), and haul them up to the third floor in two soaking-wet paper bags !
NOT a happy camper ! The muttering and cursing following that incident would have scorched your ears !

So, you guys fell down and broke your promise. Bad news. You don't have to be old for that to happen, it is just that you remember it better than you used to.

What promise ? Wasn't old (yet) when that happened, still in my late-30s; that whack to the head when I hit the ice might have split someone else's skull, but mine was apparently too hard (as my dad was so fond of telling me in my teens) ! Incident still left me fuming for several days ! Pain from illness, accidents or similar incidents bother me far less than the lingering anger which results from them; it usually takes me longer to cool off than to recover from the actual pain itself ! Character flaw ? Who knows ?

When I was younger I bounced back and never gave it a thought. Now, like you say, a resentment just lingers and I don't bounce back so quick. When I was a teen my brother lost control of a 16 ounce claw hammer. It slid down the roof and fell directly to the top of my head. While stopping the bleeding, dad opined it was a good thing it didn't hit my foot. It might have hurt me.

We all have character flaws. I call mine part of my charm.
